Not sure what to book? Here’s the simplest way to decide.

Most colour anxiety comes from one thing: you’re trying to choose a service without a plan. This guide helps you pick the right next step — with the least risk and the most clarity.

Safest default
If you’re unsure, book a consultation.
Especially if you have box dye history, uneven colour, or you’re changing your look.

1) The one rule: if there’s uncertainty, start with a consultation

If you have any of these, a colour consultation is the smartest (and safest) first move:

  • You’ve used box dye — even “years ago”.
  • Your hair is patchy, banded, or brassy.
  • You want a big change (dark → light, or warm → cool).
  • You’re new to RoseRico and not sure what you need.
Most wanted outcome
You leave the consult knowing exactly what to book next — and what result is realistic in one session vs staged.

2) The 30-second booking check

Choose the statement that feels most true:

“I like my colour — it’s just faded or warm.”
You probably need a Gloss / Tone Refresh.
“I want a soft, lived-in lighter look.”
You’re likely a Balayage candidate.
“My regrowth line feels harsh — especially with grey.”
Consider Grey Blending / Root Melt.
“Something’s gone wrong and I want it fixed.”
Start with a Colour Consultation for a correction plan.

3) Pick your path (with the right next step)

Path A — Balayage / Lived-in Blonde

Choose this if you want a brighter, softer look with a gentle grow-out (no harsh stripes).

  • Best for: natural-looking brightness, face framing, low-to-medium maintenance.
  • Common worry: “I don’t want it to go brassy.” (We plan tone + aftercare.)
  • Next step: If you’re unsure, book a consultation. If your hair is predictable and you have minimal colour history, you can book Balayage directly.

Path B — Gloss / Tone Refresh

Choose this if you basically like your colour — it just needs a polish: cooler tone, more shine, less warmth.

  • Best for: brassiness control, “in-between” maintenance, shine + softness.
  • Common worry: “Will it last?” (Depends on heat, water, products — we’ll guide you.)
  • Next step: Gloss/toner refresh service.

Path C — Grey Blending / Root Melt

Choose this if you want softer regrowth and less “line” as hair grows out — without full harsh coverage.

  • Best for: a softer, more wearable transition with grey.
  • Common worry: “Will it look natural?” (Yes — blending is designed to look softer.)
  • Next step: Grey blending service or consultation if you have complex colour history.

Path D — Colour Correction (planned stages)

Choose this if you have banding, patchiness, a strong brassy result, or box dye history — and want a safer route to a better outcome.

  • Best for: “fixing a problem” and creating a realistic end goal without wrecking hair.
  • Common worry: “Can it be done in one session?” (Sometimes, but often it’s staged.)
  • Next step: Colour consultation for a correction plan (and sometimes a strand test).

4) What to send (so I can guide you properly)

If you request a consultation, please send:

  • 2 photos in natural light (front + back)
  • 1–2 goal photos
  • When you last coloured your hair (and what was used)
  • Any box dye history (even if it was “a while ago”)
Why I ask about box dye
It can change how hair lifts (and how predictable tone is). Being honest helps me keep your hair safe.

5) Your next step

If you want the calmest route, book a colour consultation. If you’re confident you just need maintenance, book a gloss refresh. Either way — we’ll keep things clear, safe, and cool-toned.
